The Advertising Guidelines for ATAS Participants provides guidance and clarification as to the obligations that the ATAS Charter and the ATAS Code of Conduct places on ATAS Accredited entities in relation to advertising.
The Guidelines are effective 3rd February 2020, however a 3-month amnesty period has been provided for ATAS Accredited businesses to comply (ie. 3rd May 2020).
The Guidelines have been approved by the AFTA Board as an ‘Additional Condition’ pursuant to cl 2.5(m) of the ATAS Charter and as such compliance with this guide forms part of the eligibility criteria for ATAS Accreditation.
The Guidelines are not complete in detailing all of the obligations under the Australian Consumer Law but seeks to highlight common issues in the travel industry. Where applicable, it builds on and clarifies issues specifically related to the travel industry and the requirement set by AFTA for ATAS accreditation.
